Jess Reviews.... Tanning Products

Hey guy's it's Jess!
I thought I would introduce a blog that I will update every Monday. This will go on until the very last Monday of this year and I will see if I would like to bring it back next year (:

This weeks is a compare as well (:

I'm a very pale person which you can probably tell from pictures and I HATE it at this time of year. As everyone is tanning up a storm and then there's me, white as a ghost. This year I decided to become pro-active about this situation and self tan. So this week I have been testing two brands of tanning product.

Gariner Ambre Solaire 150 mL - $16.99 Bondi Sands Light/Medium 200mL - $15.00

Both of these products say that they do not have a tanning smell and they are in fact telling the truth. The Garnier product does not have a smell that is distinct compared to the Bondi Sands 'Coconut' smell. Both of these bottles are foam and come out easily, without major hesitation.

Let me begin by talking specifically about the Bondi Sands tanning solution

This product is easy to apply and smells lovely (although it does give everything you wear that smell). The light/medium was a perfect match for my skin with just one layer. This week I left it on for 3 hours and the tone was perfect. It lasted for just under a week without any moisturizer (as I was just testing I didn't moisturize everyday). I couldn't find anything bad about this product and the lasting power was wonderful.

The Gairner product was more expensive in this instance however this product really disappointed me. When you first apply the product and wait it looks like you are going to have this wonderful orange tan and have a sort of glow, however when washed off (after 3 hours) you can only see a hint of the tan, which meant I would have had to spend another 3 hours the next day making it darker (which I did not since I did not have time). However the product did apply nicely to my skin and does not have a 'tanning' smell.

So overall, I would repurchase and use Bondi Sands again and may give Gairner another try when I have more time.

See you soon!

It's our song we can sing if we want to

Hey guys it's Jess!

I am a super sentimental person. I mean I have birthday cards from when I was like 3 in a shoebox that I now regret having and I am in need of a new one (you can probably tell from the picture why).

Seriously I have this little box on my duchess that have a whole lot of notes that I used to write to people in and notes people have given me. If you ever give me a note it will end up here.

I had this massive writers' block this week because I didn't do anything exciting and I won't be doing anything this week, but while sorting out my shoes I found two letters from years ago and a shirt that I got from a cruise and I just remember how young I was when I was there and to think I've known Max for four years is crazy and seeing the first thing he ever wrote to me makes me so happy.

See you next week!

Quality time

Spending quality time with my family always makes me the happiest. My family and I don't always have quality time with each other now that both of my brothers have moved out of home. But knowing I might be moving in a couple of years makes this time more enjoyable and sentimental for me.
Days like that make me happy that my family can get along so well. We can sit down together for hours and play games together without getting into a fight. It just makes me happy and I guess that's all I wanted to say.

Highschool - Girls and Boys.

Hey guys it's Jess!

The other night I was on tumblr scrolling endlessly when I came upon a post.
This post to be exact
Now, I didn't even have to read the feed that went down to know how much hurt people get over this. To be honest, it's not just boys who do this to girls in highschool it's girls too. I remember thinking how funny it was to say to your friend walking down the aisles of shops saying 'That's totally your boyfriend' and even asking guys if they'd date my friends.

However I stopped finding it funny once something like this happened to me. Year 10 would have to be the worst year of my life for more reasons then this. After a messy break up and having a crush on this guy he asked me out. We dated for a while although it wasn't much (we went to the movies a couple a times and held hands WOW). He then broke up with me via MSN (that's even worse). A year later we were in the same drama class, we were still friends and would talk on our way to the junior side some days (this may have been end of year 10 and we had music, but you get the point) and one day he said to me You know I only asked you out because ____ said we would be cute. That's a conversation killer, I'll tell you. It also made it hard just to run away, seriously I just wanted to run and hide away so no one could find me.

That makes you feel so incredibly small. It makes you feel as if you're not worthy of anything. It makes you feel like all these girls have felt. But what we all need to remember is it's not always one person, it can be more. You may be doing it without realizing, which hurts more in the long run.

See you soon!

Long weekend blues.

Hey guys it's Jess!

This weekend for Queenslanders is a long weekend and I am allowing it to come with open arms (after my last two weeks of working full time). Since Max has to work for the next two days, due to being the youngest one there, we took the opportunity today to go to the beach and just hang out together.

I took my Samsung A57 with me and captured some nice photographs with it.

The water was so perfect today that you could not not swim in it and the rock pools are always my first spot for sighting both fish and crabs. Today on the beach all our little crabs were scattering along quickly, they were all too small to capture however.

Although Max is back at work for the next two days of this perfect long weekend I will still be using my new found time to my best advantage. Starting yoga and swimming everyday to lose a little weight.

See you soon!
