Introducing.....

Hey guys it's Jess

So I have been keeping a secret from you for the last month (really if you follow me on tumblr/instagram you actually already know). I have a boyfriend who's name is Max.

The reason behind telling you this is because he will probably appear in many of the blogs I post (I think he has already appeared, but however). 

I'm sorry I don't have a more exciting post but, I'm so tired, I have been working heaps and I just haven't had time to myself.

Assessment, Assessment, Assessment!!

Hey guys it's Jess!

These past few weeks have been crazy busy. I finished up my first round of assignments just to be bombarded with 4 more! 

These have been the biggest assessment pieces I have had to date and I've been spending all my time at the uni library. It feels good to know that I have almost finished for the term and will have a lot more time for myself. 

Once I finally hand these last 4 pieces in I have finished for the year, which means I don't start back until January (for those of you elsewhere, we start school January and finish in December, that is our Summer). It is also quiet scary to note that this time next year I will actually be finished my degree. 3 years has flown by without notice!

Miley Cyrus

Hey guys it's Jess. 

Let me talk about Miley Cyrus. Not in the 'I hate what she is doing why would she do that' kind of way, the way that 'I understand what she is doing I just think she needs to think about her audience better'.

This is where I get really annoyed at people saying crap about her. Yes I understand that she should not have done it on a family tv show etc. But can we PLEASE remember that the person she was 'twerking' on is a 30 year old man who has children. So why has (hashtag) Robin Thicke had no backlash from what he did. He allowed that 21-22 year old 'twerk' on him. Do NOT come to me and say 'o he probably didn't know' because HE KNEW. That show would have been rehearsed 1000 times (obviously an exaggeration, but it would have been rehearsed). So where do we get off 'shaming' Miley and giving her the publicity to 'shaming' (hashtag) Robin Thicke.

My next problem comes with her new video. Honestly, the video WASN'T that bad. Yes I see that she is naked and yes I see her like being weirdly sexual with the sledge hammer and the wrecking ball but the only problem I see is the weird sexual licking of the sledge hammer. But other than that the video is not as bad as it seems. I mean there is A LOT worse videos out there (let me remind you of [hashtag] Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines video) this was mild compared to that. 

Now that I've let all that off my chest I'm going to tell you all about a conversation I had with my boss the other day about this topic. 

We were sitting around while doing our afternoon tea stuff and the conversation of the video came up. My boss had said she hadn't seen it but had seen that there was 'controversy'. We talked about how we thought that she was trying to change her auidence to more of an adult scene and she said this; 

I don't think that it's a bad thing that she is trying to change her audience she just has to remember there are younger children out there who would still be looking at her as Hannah Montanna.  

Which I think sums it up well. I do agree she can change her audience and she can do it in anyway she wants it's just she does have to remember there will be 8-10 year olds who think she is Hannah Montanna and wouldn't understand why they now can't watch or see more from her.

Spring has Sprung

Hey guys it's Jess

If you live in the Southern Hemisphere you would know that Spring has finally come! I love Spring and there's like 3-4 reasons why;

1. My birthday is during Spring
2. It's hot enough to swim but still cool enough to just sit in a room
3. Everything is blooming

But here's the thing, it's been stinking HOT this Spring. It's only been 2 weeks and it's already climbed to 32 degrees Celsius. Which means only one of the above is REALLY happening. 

Just in case you were wondering 32 degrees is above what Britain was having during their Summer. 

Things are still blooming so I guess that's ok and I can still swim forever! YAY!

Politics

Hey guys it's Jess. 

If you live in Australia you would understand why I'm going to write a blog about politics, if not then (if you must know) it's voting time. Our next Prime Minister is going to be voted in tomorrow. 
If I had my way I wouldn't have any of them. But I really hope one does not get in.

Really I'm just happy that this campaign is finally going to be over. It's only been on for about 3 months but feels like the last 3 years. I'm really sick of ELECTION 2013 on my tv and on the stupid radio, really am sick of it.
