Wayback Wednesday - 2001

What a year 2001 was! It rained so much this year, that our sports carnival got cancelled at least 3 times. This year was wonderful my days were easy, my lessons were easy and the sports I loved were challenging.
The little girl who sung this song (that I loved at this stage) burst onto the scene in 2000 at the Olympic Games, what a gem. People still call her an Australian Princess.
*WARNING*
If you do not wish to have a song stuck in your head for days do not listen to the song below (even just thinking about the song makes me sing it in my head)

In 2001 I would have to say my favourite song was Strawberry Kisses - Nikki Webster. Not only is it catchy and all types of wonderful, you can annoy everyone you know with just a little bit of singing!

GRWM - Prac!

Why hello there!
Long time no see! Since I have just finished (as in a week ago) my placement for the term I thought that this would be a perfect time for me to do a GRWM (Get Ready With Me).

In the mornings I do not have time to take a shower as that would mean waking at 5am (and I am NOT a morning person), I cleanse, tone and moisturize my face with these products. I have been using these products for years and would definitely recommend purchasing them!
Ignore my bad face/clothing choice today
Once I have finished moisturizing my skin, I then prime with the NYX photo-loving primer. Which is a clear formula.

I then use my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in 100 IVORY dabbing on with a sponge. I have always used a sponge to apply my foundation and I find it incredibly useful and easy to use. I also found with this foundation product that it is really easy to build up coverage where needed.

Most days before prac I have massive circles under my eyes! So I then apply the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer to hide those circles and other blemishes on my face!

It's then time to set my concealer with Rimmel's Stay Matte powder in 005 SILKY BEIGE with my Nude by Nature Kabuki Base Brush in circular motions all over my face.

I would then prime my eyes with Napoleon Perdis eye primer. I then use my Naked 3 palette (WHICH I LOVE!) to put Limit and Trick all over my lids using a Nude by Nature eye shadow brush and a RealTechniques base shadow brush. Blending with a RealTechniques deluxe crease brush.

Then it's time to apply my mascara Covergirl's lashblastlength in black brown to my upper and lower lashes.

The blush I have been using most recently which gives me a lovely cheek colour is Too Faced Sweet Hearts in Peach Beach, when I first bought this product I would have LOVED the shade Candy Glow but since my bag was already over my spending amount I could not splurge! *sad* I apply blush with the RealTechniques Multi Task Brush

Then just to finish I would add some Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in 080 Strawberry Shortcake. This lip butter is a really natural looking colour on me and as I'm going for a really natural look it works perfectly for me!

Final Look, ignore the crappy hair!
I hope you enjoyed this Get Ready With Me! I might do a few more in the future! You may recognize some of the products used from this post I made in February as I have only changed a few things!

I have heaps of posts lined up for the next few weeks so please stay with me! Having this time off will be great to get back into blogging which I am really looking forward too!

University, Work, Friends & Blogging.

Why hello there!

What a hectic two weeks it has been. I'm am incredibly sorry that I have not uploaded anything over these past couple of weeks. Let me start with the obvious (which I stated at the end of my last blog).

My friend has been having a super hard time lately and I have really needed to be there for her as stress of university and life has been controlling the both of us. To spend so much time with someone you love is so incredibly wonderful. Always remember to tell people in your life how much you love them, because sometimes it might be your last.

Again, university. Being a final year student is harder than I thought! I kinda thought I could just blow this year by without working my butt off. Well that was a (not) well thought out plan. I go to prac for 3 weeks and each afternoon, I go to work (I am so tired). This is why my Wayback Wednesday series is put on hold for now. It should be back in about 2 weeks, but that could change. There is a four day weekend in a few weeks which I am hoping to write a whole lot of posts for you, so all I have to do is press that little publish button.

I hope you can all stick with me and I will be back as full as ever in no time (I promise).

Wayback Wednesday - 1997

As a child, I was a massive daddy's girl, which meant, when dad wasn't around I would be hanging off my older brother. In 1997, way back when, I would run around the house screaming for my brother to play this song because I thought it was the best thing ever (mainly because he would play it on repeat to stir my other brother).
Although at the time I did not realise this song had been originally released by somebody else, I still could not get enough of this song.
Looking back though, it was the most annoying, song I would ever hear in my life. It is one that just sticks in your head for days.

This week my song is Why Can't We Be Friends - Smash Mouth
What was your favourite song from 1997?

See you soon!!

P.S I am super sorry I did not update you at ALL last week, but my friend has been having an awful month and I just had to be there for her!

Dear Mum,

Happy Mother's Day from me to you.
I would like to take some time out to thank-you for everything you have ever done for me and my brothers. Without you I wouldn't be the strong person I am today. Without you when I'm sad I wouldn't know what to do. Without you having this cold would be the worst. You have always been the person I look up to the most. You have got so much of your mother in you and I am glad, because that means I will be an incredibly bright, bubbly and independent. You have taught me pretty much everything I know. I know that as a teenager I was not the greatest nor was I always the happiest. But please know, spending my time with you and laughing in the car with you while telling each other about our perfectly crappy days makes me the luckiest daughter in the world.

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living your baby I'll be.

Wayback Wednesday - 2010

4 years ago in November I graduated high school (how crazy is that). As I've been looking at the music of the times in the Wayback Wednesday series, I've always had trouble trying to find something I listened to and enjoyed in my final year of high school.

I remember 2010 as being the year I really got into Taylor Swift. Like I had been into since I was 15 (so two years before) but I hadn't really WANTED an album or cared much about the music she made. But 2010 was a changing year for that. One of the songs that really got me changing was Mine. Which I related to Max and I. But I feel like that was just the starting point and it wasn't really a 'favourite' of mine.

However, I remember finding this song and thinking how awesome it was and how you could dance to it and sing along and not care what people thought about you. I just loved this song (and I still do, I still rock out). I feel like this song could play everyday with about 2 other songs and I would still love it.

This week my choice for Wayback Wednesday is.....
Story of Us - Taylor Swift

First Impression

Good afternoon (:

Last Sunday I decided to take a trip to priceline to purchase a few things I needed. I had heard some wonderful things about the Rimmel - Wake Me Up foundation and I thought it would be an awesome idea to do a first impression blog with the foundation. While I was there I also picked myself up Maybelline New York's The Falseies mascara and by reading the blurb about it I thought I could include that too.

I applied each at 10:30am and left it on for a good 5 hours to give it the ultimate test.

When I applied this foundation it went on really well and it gave me the coverage on my skin that I really enjoy. I also found that it felt really nice on my skin and I didn't even think I had it on for most of the day.

1:30 After wearing it for 3 hours doing errands and taking some photos for you guys, I found that it still had nice coverage from my cheeks down but I felt like it had come off my forehead and I really think that's because I actually sweat a lot when setting up my camera that morning.

3:30 After 5 hours I didn't have anywhere else to go and I felt like it was time for me to take my make-up off. I found that it still felt like I had coverage everywhere bar my forehead. It was also super simple to take off!

Sorry about the nasty photo! Lighting was being awful to me!
I found this mascara to be super watery which meant I had trouble putting it on as I found it just went everywhere. However once you get a technique you are pretty fine to apply. It also looked super good when I put it on, made my eyelashes look amazing!

Left: Without, Right:  Maybelline - The Falises

1:30 This product still looked quiet nice on, but I found that bits and pieces would fall off all over your face and it just looked nasty. However if you did notice this it was super simple to just get a tissue and wipe off.

3:30 I feel the same about this product that it didn't really come off during the day however you did have big nasty like black bits fall onto your face but that was about it. I actually found this really hard to come off. With most of my other mascara's I could use my make-up wipes and some warm water and I would be fine. This I actually had to pull out my eye make-up remover!

If you like this comment down below what you would like me to try/talk about on here (:
