First Impression - Australis

Hello there, I've been blogging constantly for a while HOLLA!

As I mentioned in a previous post I had heard lots of wonderful things about Australis and I thought I should go and check out some of the products. I thought I would do this differently and create a look using all Australis products (unless of course I did not purchase those, you can see what I purchased here).

As you can see almost everyone of these products is Australis, except for what I used on my eyes.

Ignore wet hair!

The all over face and body tint by Australis is super watery! I thought this would be something that would be nice to put on as a simple cover maybe day-to-day wear. However, I found this to be too watery and would just streak all over my face. I also found that it was unable to be built.

I found that this bronzer left my skin looking muddy instead of sunkissed. This could be my fault as my brushes were a little dirty when I was trying this look. I will not give up on it just yet as I really enjoyed the look of it when swatching in store!
For some reason I did not take a photo of the blush.. But I actually really liked the way the blush looked on my face and I would definitely recommend it!

One my eyes I used; Naked 2 and Faint

I found the Megalash mascara very similar to the Falsies by Maybelline and I have come to love that mascara. I found this mascara watery and easy to apply with mishaps being easily wiped away!

This lipgloss was amazing! I love the colour and the texture and the way it felt on my lips and the way it stayed on my lips just ugh! I just loved it!

Overall, I did enjoy this brand and would recommend purchasing some of the products! Although this is just my opinion so please test it out for yourself!

First Impression

Good afternoon (:

Last Sunday I decided to take a trip to priceline to purchase a few things I needed. I had heard some wonderful things about the Rimmel - Wake Me Up foundation and I thought it would be an awesome idea to do a first impression blog with the foundation. While I was there I also picked myself up Maybelline New York's The Falseies mascara and by reading the blurb about it I thought I could include that too.

I applied each at 10:30am and left it on for a good 5 hours to give it the ultimate test.

When I applied this foundation it went on really well and it gave me the coverage on my skin that I really enjoy. I also found that it felt really nice on my skin and I didn't even think I had it on for most of the day.

1:30 After wearing it for 3 hours doing errands and taking some photos for you guys, I found that it still had nice coverage from my cheeks down but I felt like it had come off my forehead and I really think that's because I actually sweat a lot when setting up my camera that morning.

3:30 After 5 hours I didn't have anywhere else to go and I felt like it was time for me to take my make-up off. I found that it still felt like I had coverage everywhere bar my forehead. It was also super simple to take off!

Sorry about the nasty photo! Lighting was being awful to me!
I found this mascara to be super watery which meant I had trouble putting it on as I found it just went everywhere. However once you get a technique you are pretty fine to apply. It also looked super good when I put it on, made my eyelashes look amazing!

Left: Without, Right:  Maybelline - The Falises

1:30 This product still looked quiet nice on, but I found that bits and pieces would fall off all over your face and it just looked nasty. However if you did notice this it was super simple to just get a tissue and wipe off.

3:30 I feel the same about this product that it didn't really come off during the day however you did have big nasty like black bits fall onto your face but that was about it. I actually found this really hard to come off. With most of my other mascara's I could use my make-up wipes and some warm water and I would be fine. This I actually had to pull out my eye make-up remover!

If you like this comment down below what you would like me to try/talk about on here (:

Week One - Prac

Hey there!

My blog has been pretty bare lately and I will admit I have been in a bit of a writer's block since I have been so busy with work and my final prac starting. During this past week I have been going to prac and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show you what make-up I have been reaching for. I wanted to look natural instead of caked with make-up.

Products: (top to bottom; left to right)

  • Covergirl Lash Exact Waterproof Mascara - when I first started make-up this was my mascara and I have suddenly fallen back into the habit of using it.
  • Benefit Rockateur blush - New to my collection this blush gives perfect coverage and blends in perfectly with my skin/skin tone
  • Ubran Decay Naked 3 palette - These colours * are perfect for a natural look, they also blend together perfectly and easily in the morning.
  • Rimmel BB Cream; Light - This was an impulse buy last Sunday when I realised my BB cream I had ordered online would (obviously) not make it for me to wear on Tuesday, however this had worked well with my skin and gives good coverage.
  • Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (colour 080 Strawberry Shortcake) - Again, another impulse buy in Priceline last Sunday, but the colour is perfect and stays on for a long time.
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder - To keep the BB cream in place I found the perfect thing a few days earlier and I'm so glad I can reach for this everyday.

*here are the shades
A look I wore

I hope this helps some of you who need to create a natural look for a party/something you are doing.
Stay safe

August Favourites;

Hey guys it's Jess,
This week I thought I would share with you my favourite things that I have used or seen or whatever this month (since I have finally blogged for a full month). This may or may not happen every month but if it doesn't don't worry I just probably didn't like anything that month (or used things regularly).

Let's start with my favourite movie this month;

Now You See Me (M)
I went and saw this movie with my boyfriend last week and it was AMAZING. I have never seen a movie that I enjoyed so much before (other then Madeline of course). But this movie was just perfect and the acting was amazing.

Beauty

Rokk Ebony hairbrush, I got this in a Christmas gift last year and only began using it when I straightened my hair in June. I continued using it only for my straight hair up until the end of July when I just began brushing my hair with this brush and it does wonders. The head of this hairbrush allows more of my hair to go through at a time which makes brushing my hair less of a chore.

Revlon Photoready Foundation Powder and Creme (Pale/Fair). Although I hardly where make-up, this foundation is perfect for my skin. It doesn't make me look faded out and stays on for as long as I need it too. It also goes onto my skin really well and doesn't go all patchy.

Juicy Couture I got this for my birthday last year? and I did use it quite a bit but I've gotten so many different perfumes over my time that I just have a collection and I decide on the night which one I will wear that day. This month however it has been a Juicy Couture month and I've worn this to almost all of the events that have taken place of the past month.

Shop:

This month has consisted of many outings in which I needed new items of clothing/new accessories to make an old outfit new and Lovisa was a place that helped me with that. Lovisa is an accessories shop that stocks items in almost all colours. There staff are always keen to help and it makes shopping for accessories that much easier.

There you go, there's my favourites.
