August Favourites;

Hey guys it's Jess,
This week I thought I would share with you my favourite things that I have used or seen or whatever this month (since I have finally blogged for a full month). This may or may not happen every month but if it doesn't don't worry I just probably didn't like anything that month (or used things regularly).

Let's start with my favourite movie this month;

Now You See Me (M)
I went and saw this movie with my boyfriend last week and it was AMAZING. I have never seen a movie that I enjoyed so much before (other then Madeline of course). But this movie was just perfect and the acting was amazing.

Beauty

Rokk Ebony hairbrush, I got this in a Christmas gift last year and only began using it when I straightened my hair in June. I continued using it only for my straight hair up until the end of July when I just began brushing my hair with this brush and it does wonders. The head of this hairbrush allows more of my hair to go through at a time which makes brushing my hair less of a chore.

Revlon Photoready Foundation Powder and Creme (Pale/Fair). Although I hardly where make-up, this foundation is perfect for my skin. It doesn't make me look faded out and stays on for as long as I need it too. It also goes onto my skin really well and doesn't go all patchy.

Juicy Couture I got this for my birthday last year? and I did use it quite a bit but I've gotten so many different perfumes over my time that I just have a collection and I decide on the night which one I will wear that day. This month however it has been a Juicy Couture month and I've worn this to almost all of the events that have taken place of the past month.

Shop:

This month has consisted of many outings in which I needed new items of clothing/new accessories to make an old outfit new and Lovisa was a place that helped me with that. Lovisa is an accessories shop that stocks items in almost all colours. There staff are always keen to help and it makes shopping for accessories that much easier.

There you go, there's my favourites.

University? Yes or No?

Hey guys it's Jess!

Now I can't really say I'm one to ask about whether university is right for someone or not, I've known ever since I was about 10 that I was going to go to university. But I know A LOT of people have questioned whether it is right for them. So I have started youtube (OMG) and here's my first video.

I will be back again with an actual blog post soon (:

It's a nice day for a white wedding!

Hey guys it's Jess.

Saturday was my brothers big day. He got married! So I took my camera along to all the special events we had over the weekend and here are just a few of my favourites.

Introducing; Mr & Mrs Born

Is this Johnny Walker or my brother?
My mother is annoyed at me for not taking any photos of the 'family' outside the church. But it was kinda difficult when I was in half of them.
See you soon!

Achievements?

Hey guys it's Jess.
Disclaimer: Text Heavy

Over the past few weeks a whole lot has happened in my life (not to me, but to my friends/family). It has made me think about how much I feel like I haven't achieved for my life in the last 19 years. It started with tonight (Tuesday) thinking about how my brother is getting married next weekend. My brother is obviously older then me, but it is a scary thought to think that just in a week's time he will be a married man and I will have a sister-in-law.
It's also made me think about what I haven't achieved that so many other people my age have. It sounds pretty stupid to write a 'things I haven't achieved' when I've only been alive 19 years and 8 months.
But instead of just writing this I haven't achieved I'm going to write 'things I have achieved'. That could be in a few weeks time though.

Something that so many of my friends have done in the past year is moved out of home. I am so excited to finally move out of my house but it makes me so nervous to think one day I'll have to pay my way in life and I feel as if I'm failing as an 'adult' because I haven't moved out yet.

Another thing so many people I know have already got is a full time job. Me I have two casual jobs where in one of them I'd rather not. It is also frustrating when people you know from high school come in and like look down on you because you're still packing shelves or serving or whatever.

Perfect grades have never been my domain and hearing that people are getting HD and D's for all of their assignments makes you feel really bad about yourself. It also makes it hard for me when my brothers do courses harder then mine and come home with those grades.

I haven't even owned my first car yet. UGH.

I can go on and on but this is making me so angry. See you next week!

Yes I know, two in a weekend OMG, but this has something to do with next weeks.
Shhhhh.

Life in pictures.

Hey guys it's Jess!

Recently I went out and bought a new camera to take shots for my blog and other things that I would love to take photos of. I've always been one to like photography but never really took it all that seriously because people would always assume I'm just following the crowd. I have been interested in this for ages and I would never want to make a 'job' out of it per say. I just really like photographing things.

So I was messing around with it while outside with my dogs today (while taking photos for an upcoming blog) because I thought I'd take some nice shots just quickly and check out all the different modes etc. and just have a mess around and I came upon some really nice shots I'd love to share with you guys.
Look at this cutie pie.

I have edited all these photos to make them look a lot better, except one. I'm really unhappy with one editing of the photo but I just didn't know what else to do. Maybe when I change the editing on it I'll reupload it here.

I hope you enjoyed this. See you next week!

5 Things I like in my Bedroom.

Hey guys it's Jess

Ever since I have moved into my new house (I use the term new loosely) I haven't been able to perfect my bedroom. This bedroom is a lot smaller than my old bedroom which makes it hard to make any decisions about placements of beds etc. But I thought today would be a great day to talk about my top 5 things I like that are in my bedroom (these are in no particular order).

  1. My bookcase. This is so useful, it may not have many books on it nor books you might like but ugh I just love books. It's also really handy to have my tv and other nic nacs on it as I don't really have anywhere else to put these things.
  2. My bed. Like seriously, who doesn't love their bed!
    Ignore the messy bed
  3. My duchess. It might look messy and might look like I never use it. But I do. This thing is my gem. This house does not have a full length mirror so that mirror is one of the best things I have ever owned. It also is something I inherited from my grandmother who I love dearly.

  4. My floating shelves. Since this bedroom is a lot smaller than my bedroom from my old house these shelves are a life saver. If only I had more room to put more up!

  5. My blue wall. The photo probably does this no justice. But I have forever loved the colour blue and have always wanted to paint my room a perfect blue and I must say this is pretty close to perfect. This wall has taken me 18 years to achieve and I'm so happy it has FINALLY become a reality.

I'm sorry this is so late. I got so annoyed on Friday, then was so busy on the weekend with my two party things I had on and then I had assignments I figured I should do to get them out of the way.
But I will see you this weekend!

'Personal' lifes of Youtubers.

Hey guys it's Jess.
Disclaimer: text heavy post

Tonight there has been observations of 'zalfie' in jims vlog from today? or yesterday. I think we need to point out that youtubers are people. Yes they allow us into their lives and allow us into their everyday situations and things they do but remember they have feelings too (which when you watch them a lot of them admit to).

Now I won't sit here and say shipping is a bad thing, because it's not (and I admit to doing it far too often and far too inappropriately) however, I don't put all of my feelings all over the internet for everyone to see. We all need to remember that youtubers edit their lives in order to put out an image of themselves that they like. We never see an unedited video and if we do I bet ALL of us would not sit for that long (although I did watch Alex Day's while skipping like 5 minutes).

Which brings me to the point of youtubers personal lifes. You do NOT know them personally and I think we need to realise that here and now. You do NOT know who they are dating. You do NOT know who they like. Get it through your head you do NOT know every little detail about them that you THINK you do. Yes some of them share all these things with you, however some of them don't and you need to respect that privacy or else you are going to make them anxious or scared to ever post something with someone ever again.

To bring it to your attention, if you ship 'zalfie' you would know that Zoe has panic attacks. So what do you think you are doing provoking the topic? Think about it. What if you were in Zoe's situation how would you feel?
If it was an accident I'm sure the uploader is feeling horrible and I honestly believe that it is not Zoe nor is it Alfie (more to the point I don't think it's Alfie) and I think that Jim, Zoe, Tanya and Alfie know this, but having all of the viewers comment OMG IT'S ZALFIE FINALLY has made him private/reedit the video he uploaded today/yesterday.

All I'm saying is that we need to think about these youtubers as people before we go and bombard them with questions/tweets/whatever. I'm not sitting here saying that when you ship something/someone you can't post about it on the media outlet you use, but remember that their might be boyfriends/girlfriends in the picture already and think about how they must be feeling.
But continue to think about the youtubers feelings.

I will still have another blog tomorrow/Saturday, see you then! (:

Girly Girl?

Hey guys it's Jess!

Are you a girly girl? Or do you wish you were more girly? Or even just wish you knew more hairstyles? Yeah well the last two are me. In the last 3 years I've worn 2 hairstyles (with like 2 variations of the hairstyle). There's my updo which wasn't really 'up' half the time, which I would change to a side ponytail every other day (how vanilla right?). Then I'd just wear it down and on occasion with twirly things on the side (adventurous, I know!).

Now since going to university and I don't know just living my life a bit more I've realised I want to be a bit more 'girly' and use make-up and do my hair fancy and you know do something different every once in a while. So I taught myself how to fishtail braid this week (I obviously watched youtube videos). It's really quiet bad but at least I can do something different now, once I get a little better. You have to realise this is a BIG deal for me since I could not even plait before this week because I'm a pretty uncoordinated person.

Also while trialing hairstyles I've figured out that I look much better with my hair higher up rather than where I'd wear it previously (which Sophie has been telling me since first year). Which means my go to hairstyle now is just a variation on my first style just up a bit and it's so much less hassle than my earlier one.

So now my next challenge is doing my makeup, just in general.
Wish me luck!

See you next week!
