Childhood

Hey guys it's Jess!

Last night I didn't have any plans other than to be with Max and we noticed that Toy Story and Toy Story 2 was on. I have always enjoyed Toy Story and with my 20th birthday tomorrow I thought I would relive my childhood with 3 of my favourites movies from before I turned 15.

1. My all time favourite movie (even now) will forever be Madeline.

I have watched this movie more times then I can count, while quoting every line. I really don't know what draws me to this movie nor do I know what makes me keep coming back. But I will forever have a love for this movie.

2. The first book I ever read all by myself was Matilda and I just loved it. I had dad borrow it out from his school's library almost every week, so when I found out there was a movie I was ecstatic.

As a child I always wished I had had superpowers for the times things got rough and this movie made my dreams come to life (even if they weren't happening to me).

3. Christmas is a big time of year for my family. We have so many traditions and we stick to them almost every year. This movie is a massive part of my Christmas and I'm so excited to be able to watch it every year with my family.

My dad first introduced this movie to me and I have loved it ever since. My love for Charlie is uncontrollable and my best friend thinks I'm strange. But I will forever love these movies.

What was your favourite childhood movie?

See you soon!

Mind Blank.

Hey guys it's Jess!

This week has been crazy and I just haven't been able to sit down and write something about life but I still have to write something but what is that something I should write about? And my mind went straight to friends (not the tv show, just incase you wondered). I have had my fair share of friends in my 19 years of existence and I must say a lot of them were not worth the time or effort I put into them. I also must point out that there are many cons to being my friend.

Let me elaborate
Cons;
  • I never text you (unless it's for an assignment or I'm picking you up.) I just can't text you. When people text each other they just like bitch and I can't deal with that.
  •  I'm totally emotional. I cry at the drop of a hat (I have gotten better I must say).
  •  I feel really uncomfortable in group situations, mainly because I usually just get talked over or ignored.
  •  I hate walking in groups, I'm always the one left by themselves.
  •  I can be really embarrassing. I once played the penis game with a friend in our final school assembly (next minute the people on stage said how mature we all were. Let's just say we burst into fits of giggles).
  •  I'm a horrible person. When I talk about things or people I'm not always the nicest nor do I do the nicest things. I'm even quiet horrible to you and that's not like my intention it's just the way I have learnt to deal with things.
  •  I talk way too much about stupid stupid things and you will get bored of listening to me.
  • I jump from topic to topic and return to the previous topic about 10 mins later when I think about something.

That's just HALF of my cons seriously. But after 19 years alive I've had many people tell me I'm stuck with them forever (what a lie was that). After many failed friendships I have found three of the best friends I have ever thought I could get. One of them will forever be the love of my life (friends, we're friends) when we don't speak and speak after a month it feels like we're just starting from where we left off. The second is just my partner in crime, she will forever be the most amazing, stronger person I have ever met. The way she puts up with people is something to just admire and I do admire her. The final is someone who HAS been there for me throughout my entire life. We've never fought but we have totally had our ups and downs together. Most times I'm with her I laugh till I cry and I cannot deal with somethings that come out of her mouth.

Love of my life
Best girl I've ever come across

(I think it's a little weird I have these types of photos with the two of them)

Forever and a day
So this is just something to say thank-you and just so you all know what you're getting yourself into, seriously (;

Jess Reviews.... Tanning Products

Hey guy's it's Jess!
I thought I would introduce a blog that I will update every Monday. This will go on until the very last Monday of this year and I will see if I would like to bring it back next year (:

This weeks is a compare as well (:

I'm a very pale person which you can probably tell from pictures and I HATE it at this time of year. As everyone is tanning up a storm and then there's me, white as a ghost. This year I decided to become pro-active about this situation and self tan. So this week I have been testing two brands of tanning product.

Gariner Ambre Solaire 150 mL - $16.99 Bondi Sands Light/Medium 200mL - $15.00

Both of these products say that they do not have a tanning smell and they are in fact telling the truth. The Garnier product does not have a smell that is distinct compared to the Bondi Sands 'Coconut' smell. Both of these bottles are foam and come out easily, without major hesitation.

Let me begin by talking specifically about the Bondi Sands tanning solution

This product is easy to apply and smells lovely (although it does give everything you wear that smell). The light/medium was a perfect match for my skin with just one layer. This week I left it on for 3 hours and the tone was perfect. It lasted for just under a week without any moisturizer (as I was just testing I didn't moisturize everyday). I couldn't find anything bad about this product and the lasting power was wonderful.

The Gairner product was more expensive in this instance however this product really disappointed me. When you first apply the product and wait it looks like you are going to have this wonderful orange tan and have a sort of glow, however when washed off (after 3 hours) you can only see a hint of the tan, which meant I would have had to spend another 3 hours the next day making it darker (which I did not since I did not have time). However the product did apply nicely to my skin and does not have a 'tanning' smell.

So overall, I would repurchase and use Bondi Sands again and may give Gairner another try when I have more time.

See you soon!

It's our song we can sing if we want to

Hey guys it's Jess!

I am a super sentimental person. I mean I have birthday cards from when I was like 3 in a shoebox that I now regret having and I am in need of a new one (you can probably tell from the picture why).

Seriously I have this little box on my duchess that have a whole lot of notes that I used to write to people in and notes people have given me. If you ever give me a note it will end up here.

I had this massive writers' block this week because I didn't do anything exciting and I won't be doing anything this week, but while sorting out my shoes I found two letters from years ago and a shirt that I got from a cruise and I just remember how young I was when I was there and to think I've known Max for four years is crazy and seeing the first thing he ever wrote to me makes me so happy.

See you next week!

Quality time

Spending quality time with my family always makes me the happiest. My family and I don't always have quality time with each other now that both of my brothers have moved out of home. But knowing I might be moving in a couple of years makes this time more enjoyable and sentimental for me.
Days like that make me happy that my family can get along so well. We can sit down together for hours and play games together without getting into a fight. It just makes me happy and I guess that's all I wanted to say.

Highschool - Girls and Boys.

Hey guys it's Jess!

The other night I was on tumblr scrolling endlessly when I came upon a post.
This post to be exact
Now, I didn't even have to read the feed that went down to know how much hurt people get over this. To be honest, it's not just boys who do this to girls in highschool it's girls too. I remember thinking how funny it was to say to your friend walking down the aisles of shops saying 'That's totally your boyfriend' and even asking guys if they'd date my friends.

However I stopped finding it funny once something like this happened to me. Year 10 would have to be the worst year of my life for more reasons then this. After a messy break up and having a crush on this guy he asked me out. We dated for a while although it wasn't much (we went to the movies a couple a times and held hands WOW). He then broke up with me via MSN (that's even worse). A year later we were in the same drama class, we were still friends and would talk on our way to the junior side some days (this may have been end of year 10 and we had music, but you get the point) and one day he said to me You know I only asked you out because ____ said we would be cute. That's a conversation killer, I'll tell you. It also made it hard just to run away, seriously I just wanted to run and hide away so no one could find me.

That makes you feel so incredibly small. It makes you feel as if you're not worthy of anything. It makes you feel like all these girls have felt. But what we all need to remember is it's not always one person, it can be more. You may be doing it without realizing, which hurts more in the long run.

See you soon!

Long weekend blues.

Hey guys it's Jess!

This weekend for Queenslanders is a long weekend and I am allowing it to come with open arms (after my last two weeks of working full time). Since Max has to work for the next two days, due to being the youngest one there, we took the opportunity today to go to the beach and just hang out together.

I took my Samsung A57 with me and captured some nice photographs with it.

The water was so perfect today that you could not not swim in it and the rock pools are always my first spot for sighting both fish and crabs. Today on the beach all our little crabs were scattering along quickly, they were all too small to capture however.

Although Max is back at work for the next two days of this perfect long weekend I will still be using my new found time to my best advantage. Starting yoga and swimming everyday to lose a little weight.

See you soon!
